Ten days and no blogging

Well 10 days have passed since my last blog posting, for various reasons. So here is a precis...
1. Went to Liverpool for conference. Had informal meetings Friday night. Formal meetings Saturday. Increasingly felt ill. Watched the England v Scotland rugby, which didn't help. Went to bed. Temperature. 25 out of 45 hours in Liverpool spent in bed. Was so ill Grace (a Scot) was unable to go to the Glee Club and gloat about the score and had to mop my fevered brow instead.
2. Got back from Liverpool. Was going to post about the NHS and party President debates (both of which my illness meant I missed). Broadband died, which is probably a good thing. Can somebody tell me why we abolished a load of local boards in the 19th century to give power to democratically elected councillors, we now talk about a rag-bag of elected board reversing what good was done 150 years ago?
3. Work week has been hectic, largely covering other people's areas.
4. I've written to Sir Ian Blair about Derek Conway. Watch this space.
5. Thursday Grace and I were at the NLC for the Orpington Circle Dinner, a fundraising event for the Lib Dems. David McBride hosted our table, and I got two mentions in despatches in Chris Rennard's speech!
6. Today Pip and I were on Blackheath with the Box of Tricks. I am concerned that Grace has ordered a 4 metre one of these.
7. What most readers won't know is that I only met my mum in 2000. She arrives here tomorrow from Australia for 6 weeks. Trips are planned over the coming weeks to Weymouth, Great Yarmouth and Edinburgh. Exciting!!
