Did Labour hypocrisy kill their campaign in Crystal Palace?

Behind the scenes there was a great deal of talking up by Labour of their chances in Crystal Palace. They were claiming in private that all the Liberal Democrat support was a personal vote for Chris Gaster. Of course, without detracting on 35 years of dedication my Chris, this is not the whole truth.
One aspect of the Labour campaign does interest me. On their campaign web page they attack the Lib Dems for supporting the moving of a library, but in their members newsletter they complain about the Tories not having the funds to move it!
